Warangal: In a tragic incident, a third-year engineering student was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her relative's house in Ramannapet, Warangal on Sunday. The victim has been identified as Rakshitha, a B.Tech student of Electronics and Communication Engineering at a college in Narsampet. It is suspected that she died by suicide due to the alleged ragging by a senior student. According to sources, Rakshitha had confided in her relatives that she was being harassed by a senior in her college. It is believed that the senior had shared a picture of Rakshitha with a male friend on social media, which may have prompted her to take the extreme step. The Matwada police have registered a case under section 174 CrPC, and the body has been shifted to MGM hospital for postmortem. The investigation is currently underway.
