In a heartwarming display of love and commitment, a groom in Thirupathi, Prof Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, went ahead with his wedding to his bride, Shailaja, despite her being hospitalized. Due to a sudden illness, Shailaja had to undergo a minor surgery and was placed under the care of doctors in a private hospital in Chennur mandal, just a day before their scheduled marriage ceremony. With no time to delay, the groom and his family decided to conduct the wedding in the hospital itself. In a departure from the traditional wedding mandapam, the couple exchanged vows in the hospital room, with the bride seated on a hospital bed and a few close relatives, doctors, nurses, and patients in attendance. Despite the unconventional setting, the wedding ceremony was a joyful affair, with the groom tying the mangalsutra around the bride's neck and exchanging garlands, amidst smiles and cheers from the attendees.
