In a heartwarming display of love and commitment, a groom in Thirupathi, Prof Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, went ahead with his wedding to his bride, Shailaja, despite her being hospitalized. Due to a sudden illness, Shailaja had to undergo a minor surgery and was placed under the care of doctors in a private hospital in Chennur mandal, just a day before their scheduled marriage ceremony. With no time to delay, the groom and his family decided to conduct the wedding in the hospital itself. In a departure from the traditional wedding mandapam, the couple exchanged vows in the hospital room, with the bride seated on a hospital bed and a few close relatives, doctors, nurses, and patients in attendance. Despite the unconventional setting, the wedding ceremony was a joyful affair, with the groom tying the mangalsutra around the bride's neck and exchanging garlands, amidst smiles and cheers from the attendees. The hospital staff, touched by the couple's dedication, also joined in
