The timely intervention and swift action of staff at the Bandipur Tiger Reserve in Chamarajangar district saved the life of a female elephant that was electrocuted on February 14. The elephant, which was between 25 to 30 years old, had accidentally come in contact with a barbed wire fence on a private land near the Omkara forest range of Bandipur. The staff and veterinarians at Bandipur quickly intervened, providing prompt treatment to the injured elephant. Their efforts paid off, as the elephant was able to make a full recovery and was released back into the forest. The elephant is now being closely monitored to ensure its continued health and safety. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was quick to praise the efforts of the Bandipur staff, commending their bravery and dedication in saving the life of the elephant.
