MP Vijayasai Reddy raises voice on AP three capital issue in Rajya Sabha

YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy raised his concerns about the proposed plan for three capitals in the state during a session in the Rajya Sabha. He emphasized that the state government has full power over the capital issue as per Article 154 of the Constitution. The MP explained that the aim of having three capitals is to promote balanced regional development and bridge gaps between different regions in the state.

Citing examples from states like Uttar Pradesh and Chattisgarh, where the capital and high court are located in separate areas, Reddy argued that this is a common practice and helps to decentralize power. He also accused the Centre of showing neglect towards the Vizag metro issue, which he deemed as a step-motherly treatment towards the state.
