Owaisi vs KTR: AIMIM Leader Takes Strong Exception to IT Minister's Remarks
The BRS and AIMIM, known to be friendly parties, engaged in a heated exchange during a recent session of the Telangana Assembly. This type of verbal spat between the two parties has become a common occurrence. However, this time, the argument between IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao and AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi reached a new level, with Owaisi announcing that the AIMIM would contest 50 seats in the upcoming elections and aim to have at least 15 MLAs in the Assembly.
Owaisi took offense to Rama Rao's statement about the AIMIM's seven MLAs speaking for hours in the Assembly and questioning the BRS's strength of 105 MLAs. In response, Owaisi stated that he took the comments made by Rama Rao very seriously.
In an interesting turn of events, several Congress MLAs had a meeting with AIMIM legislature party leader Asaduddin Owaisi after the budget speech adjourned the Assembly. Congress LP leader Bhatti Vikramarka and MLAs Sridhar Babu and Jagga Reddy had a discussion with Akbaruddin Owaisi that lasted for over an hour, sparking interest in what was discussed between the two parties.
