Samantha features a new avatar in Prime Video series 'Citadel'

The science fiction drama series "Citadel" is getting multiple local-language adaptations, with Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan confirmed as the lead for the Indian version. Tollywood actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu has now joined the cast, with the announcement made that she will begin shooting soon.

Directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK of "The Family Man" fame, the show is written by Sita R. Menon with support from the two showrunners. "Citadel" will be one of the most expensive OTT shows made in India, filmed in Mumbai, North Indian towns, Serbia, and South Africa. The series will showcase Samantha in a new avatar.
