KTR inaugurates ITC food factory in Medak district

Telangana IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao inaugurated the ITC Food Processing Factory in Manoharabad, Medak district with an investment of Rs 460 crore. The facility, which is spread over 59 acres of land and has a built-up area of 6.5 lakh square feet, aims to improve employment opportunities and increase the income of farmers and other sections of society through industrialization.

In a speech at the inauguration, Minister Rama Rao stated that Telangana is preparing 10,000 acres for special food processing zones and will extend full support and cooperation if ITC expands its presence in Hyderabad. He also requested ITC to source raw materials, particularly potatoes for its Bingo brand of chips, from local farmers and assured that the state will ensure quality through agricultural scientists and Rythu Bandhu Samithis.

ITC Ltd Chairman and Managing Director Sanjiv Puri was present at the event along with Medak MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy and Principal Secretary (IT) Jayesh Ranjan.
