Tamil Nadu: A temple festival event in Arakkonam turned tragic when a crane collapsed, resulting in the deaths of four people and severe injuries to nine others. The incident occurred on Sunday evening during the festival at Keelveethi. According to sources, those killed were identified as Muthukumar, Bhoopalan and Jothibabu. It is reported that no permission had been granted for the use of the crane at the event. The crane, which was carrying the idol of the deity and eight people, was taking turns and receiving garlands from festival goers when it collapsed. The injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital. The crane operator has been arrested by the police.
