Khammam: Kanti Velugu, the world's largest eye screening program, has launched its second phase in Khammam, India. The program aims to conduct mass eye screening camps in all gram panchayats and municipal wards across the state, with a goal of benefiting around 1.5 crore of people. The program was officially launched by the Chief Minister of Telangana, K Chandrashekhar Rao, along with other prominent leaders such as Pinarayi Vijayan from Kerala, Arvind Kejriwal from Delhi, Bhagwant Singh Mann from Punjab, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. The second phase of the program will be conducted for 100 working days with 1,500 medical teams and 55 lakh spectacles and medicines will be distributed to the people who will be screened. The program is a major initiative to improve the eye health and vision of the people in the state.
