Guntur court orders police to file case against minister

In a shocking turn of events, a court in Andhra Pradesh's Guntur district ordered police to file a complaint against the state's irrigation minister, Ambati Rambabu, on Wednesday. The court's ruling came after a petition was filed by a representative of the Jana Sena Party (JSP), accusing the minister of selling tickets under the guise of the YSR Sankranti Lucky Draw.

According to G. Venkateshwara Rao, president of the JSP's Guntur district unit, many residents of the minister's Sattenapalle constituency were being sold tickets under the guise of the illegal lottery. Despite the fact that lotteries are prohibited in the state, the JSP leader claims that tickets were still being distributed and that the minister himself had persuaded people to purchase them.

When the police failed to take any action on the complaint, the petitioner sought the court's intervention. The court then instructed the police to file a report and begin an investigation into the matter. This decision has sparked widespread condemnation among the citizens and political circles alike, raising questions about the integrity of the state's government.
