Manikrao Thakre has been named as the new party in charge of Telangana by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, who has moved the current Manickam Tagore to Goa. Manikrao Thakre has been named the AICC's Telangana representative by the Congress President, according to a statement from Congress General Secretary, Organization K.C. Venugopal. Dinesh Gundu Rao will continue to be in charge of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, while Tagore will take over as Goa's administrator. Thakre is a former president of the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee and a four-time MLA and two-time MLC. In the Sushil Kumar Shinde Cabinet, he also held the position of Minister.
