Mrs. Koushal defeated competitors from 63 nations to return the trophy to India after a 21-year hiatus. The managing organisation of the Mrs. India pageant announced the news on Instagram with the caption, "The long wait is over, it's after 21 years we got the CROWN back!" Jammu and Kashmir native Sargam Koushal released a video expressing her joy at winning the championship. "After 21–22 years, the crown is back with us. I'm overjoyed. "I love you, India, and I love you, world," declared the newly crowned Mrs World.
