Mahua Moitra, a member of the TMC, criticised the BJP-led government for its severe incompetence and for gas-lighting political debate during a debate in the Lok Sabha on the supplementary demand of funds.

Mahua Moitra of the Trinamool Congress should explore in her "own backyard" to find her 'Pappu,' the Union finance minister said today in a jab at the Bengal MP for yesterday. Ms Sitharaman offered a lengthy and mocking answer in the Lok Sabha today in response to Ms Moitra's query of 'macroeconomic fundamentals,' which was wrapped up in the 'Who is Pappu now' jab. She focused on the Bengal government's boycott of Central government programmes.

Mahua Moitra, has asked earlier, 'Who is the Pappu?' and 'Where is the Pappu?' To find Pappu in West Bengal, she only needs to seek in her own backyard, Ms. Sitharaman noted made these comments during the conversation about supplemental demands for grants.
