The feet of Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, was touched twice by Telangana's Director of Public Health, Dr. G. Srinivasa Rao, last week, setting off a controversy. On Sunday, Rao justified his conduct and offered to repeat it 100 times. During a programme in Kothagudem, the officer told the media that the Chief Minister is just like his father and is guiding Telangana toward growth, and that it was a fortunate coincidence that he had the chance to touch his feet. Srinivasa Rao stated, "I shall touch the Chief Minister's feet 100 times." The Telangana official defended his claim by saying that he attended the meeting to approve the state's medical colleges. CM KCR agreed with his desire for the establishment of a medical college at Kothagudem, the official said. The director of public health remembered that he moved to Hyderabad 33 years ago to study Osmania Medical College because Kothagudem didn't have a medical college then.
