Rishi Sunak meets PM Modi for the first time; India-UK leaders interact on G20 sidelines

On the sidelines of the 17th G20 Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his colleague from the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, for the first time since taking office. A long-awaited free trade agreement is currently the subject of negotiations between India and the UK. Before the conference began, PM Modi had meetings with US President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron.

Since Sunak became the first Prime Minister of Indian descent in the history of Britain last month, it was their first face-to-face encounter.

The two prime ministers may be seen conversing in the photo released by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) during the G20 Summit in Indonesia.
