On October 1 at the India Mobile Congress at Pragati Maidan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will announce the availability of 5G services in India. Next month, the Prime Minister will open a four-day conference where top telecom providers including Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Vodafone Idea will outline their 5G plans for the nation.
In a previous statement, the Department of Telecom, or DoT, stated that the first wave of the rollout of the high-speed 5G internet would take place in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune.
Last week, Ashwini Vaishnaw, the minister of communications, brushed off concerns about the possible radiation effects of 5G. According to him, the radiation from 5G is far lower than what the WHO recommends.
