There was a ruckus caused by a couple's suicide attempt at the Tirupati Collector's office. A resident of Sainagar, Sullurpet named Nagarjuna attempted suicide after complaining that passbooks were not being given to their farms in Uppalamadi village. Bhavani, Nagarjuna's wife, drank pesticide as he used a blade to cut his hand. Nagarjuna claimed that despite petitions being submitted to the Collector and the Chief Minister, no passbooks were issued. The cops apprehended the couple who attempted suicide and took them to Tirupati Ruia Hospital. They expressed dissatisfaction that, after sending letters to the revenue authorities, they had not given a response.
