Police at Kotharoad intersection in Srikakulam district blocked TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh from reaching Palasa. TDP supporters demonstrated against the police action and shouted anti-slogans at CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. A dispute erupted over an effort to demolish homes in Palasa Kashibugga Municipality on August 19 at midnight. The residences of people who have lived there for 40 years were reportedly demolished, which worrieed the TDP leaders. They are objecting to the fact that how they can demolish with no prior warning. Minister Sidiri Appalaraju is the focus of charges from TDP leaders. Police have stationed troops throughout the district and have been stopping TDP leaders from heading to Palasa.
