Devotees offer scorpions to Deity at Kodumur temple in Kurnool dist
Traditionally, Hindu followers in India honour the God/Goddess by breaking open a coconut and giving it to them. Alternately, the worshipers prepare delectable dishes as an offering to Gods and Goddesses. But at Kodumur temple in Kurnool district, one of Andhra Pradesh's districts, worshippers capture scorpions and offer them as offerings to the gods. Children collect scorpions fearlessly and offer them to the Gods and Goddessess, just like adults do. Although it seems like a strange tradition, this practise has been used for many years.
People firmly believe that by performing those rituals, followers' wishes are accomplished.
