The national spokesman for the Congress party, Dasoju Sravan, announced his resignation from the party on Friday, inflicting another blow to the Congress in Telangana. He has made the decision to resign from Congress, alleging that there is complete chaos within the party under the direction of state unit President A. Revanth Reddy. He claimed that the party began giving preference to leaders based on caste and financial backing once Revanth Reddy was elected state president. He claimed that in Telangana, Revanth Reddy had disregarded all of Sonia Gandhi's and Rahul Gandhi's ideals. He claimed that the state unit had become a "mafia" and was working against the fundamental tenet of the party principles. His resignation followed that of MLA Komatireddy Rajagopala Reddy, who also criticised Revanth Reddy's leadership.
