Srisailam: Andhra Pradesh Irrigation Minister Ambati Rambabu visited Srisailam Dam today and offered prayers to the Goddess Gangamma before releasing the water from the dam. The Minister and officials opened three gates of the Srisailam dam up to 10 feet in height and released water 50,000 cusecs of water and will reach Nagarjuna Sagar Project, Nalgonda. The irrigation department officials opened gates no five, six and seven and released the water downstream. As per the reports, at present Srisailam Dam is receiving 93,000 cusecs of inflows from Jurala Projects and Sunkesula reservoir. The capacity of Srisailam Dam is 885 ft and the present water level reached 882.50 ft.
