Macharla: The designer of the Indian national flag, Pingali Venkaiah's daughter Ghantasala Sitamahalaskhmi took her last breath on Thursday afternoon at her residence in Macharla, Palnadu district. Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Prathipati Pulla Rai, Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy and others expressed their condolences to her family members. It is known that CM YS Jagan visited the house of Sitamahalakshmi on March 12 last year and handed over her Rs 75 lakh cheque. It is learnt that the state government planned to felicitate Sitamahalakshmi on 2nd August as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
