In Uttar Pradesh, a case of intentional disrespect to Hindu beliefs and values has come to light amid widespread religious intolerance and conflicts. In the Sambhal area of Uttar Pradesh, a man was detained on suspicion of offending religious emotions by wrapping chicken in papers with images of Hindu gods and goddesses before selling it to his customers. Some members of the local Hindu community complained to the police on Sunday about Talib Hussain, who was selling chicken that was wrapped in paper that featured Hindu deities. One of the news organisations reported that Hussain allegedly attacked the police officers with a sharp knife with the aim to harm them when they arrived at his shop to investigate the incident.
