Droupadi Murmu, the BJP's presidential candidate, was seen sweeping the floor of a Shiv temple in Rairangpur, Mayurbhanj district, Odisha, on Wednesday. 64-Year-old Ms Murmu was seen entering the temple and sweeping the floor before praying. Murmu could be seen outside the temple with a broom in hand, engaged in cleaning rituals. Ms Murmu, an Odisha tribal leader, has been named the ruling NDA's candidate for the upcoming presidential election. On Tuesday, BJP President J.P. Nadda announced that Murmu, former Governor of Jharkhand and a former Odisha minister, will be the ruling National Democratic Alliance's (NDA)'s candidate in the upcoming presidential elections to be held on July 18. The counting of votes will take place on July 21.
