Telangana state commemorates its formation day with pomp and ceremony on June 2nd, hosting a variety of festivities and cultural activities. Telangana became India's 29th state on June 2, 2014. Telangana observes Formation Day to commemorate the people's contribution to the formation of a separate state outside of Andhra Pradesh. Telangana Foundation Day is a public holiday in Telangana, India, commemorating the foundation of the state. Today, Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao, popularly known as KCR, will raise the state flag at Public Gardens in Hyderabad to commemorate Telangana Day. On this occasion, CM KCR will highlight the state government's eight-year political journey as well as the goals that his administration must achieve.
