Amalapuram violence: 19 held
Nineteen people were arrested in Konaseema violence as a result of the proposed renaming after Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The police filed 46 complaints under various sections and eventually detained 19 people.
Following assertions by Minister Vishwaroop and other political groups that the Amalapuram violence was the result of a conspiracy, the police have increased their search and investigation efforts. Police have been attempting to track down the anti-social elements using CCTV footage, media reporting, and other social media postings. Meanwhile, internet connectivity has been suspended in numerous Konaseema zones, including Amalapuram, for the second day in a row. Almost all sectors have suffered as a result of the lack of internet.
Palraju, Elluru Range DIG in a press conference, detailed the progression of the investigation and the steps taken.
The district remained tense, but under control, thanks to considerable police presence.
