Harish Rao strong counter to PM Modi comments on family politics
The Finance and Health Minister T Harish Rao has come down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleging that his speech was limited on criticising the Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) government.
In response to PM Modi's charges that TRS is a family party, Telangana Minister remarked that if a party supports the BJP, that party will be praised. If one party disputes their rights, they must face criticism. He claims that PM Modi's statement is a clear sign that the BJP intended to marginalise the TRS party by propagating false allegations.
TRS troubleshooter accused the Prime Minister of supporting hereditary politics at a news conference in Siddipet Press Club on Thursday, saying that union Home Minister Amit Shah's son Jay Shah was the current BCCI Secretary despite never playing cricket. He further stated that Pankaj Singh, the son of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, was a member of the current Uttar Pradesh Assembly. While the son of former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje was a present Lok Sabha member, he claimed that the father of Union Minister Piyush Goel was a senior BJP functionary. Harish Rao has also claimed that the BJP has formed an alliance with numerous parties that promote hereditary politics. He listed Shivasena, the DMK, and several other regional parties led by families as examples.
