Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, the founder and spiritual head of Isha, stated on Wednesday that the food eaten today belongs to 'the unborn kid' because the world is on the verge of a serious worldwide food catastrophe in the coming decades. He urged for soil conservation measures for food security while raising awareness about the 'Save Soil' initiative at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva. He claims that UN organisations and scientists agree that the land will only be suitable for farming for another 55 years. He was on the panel with Nadia Isler, Director General of the United Nations Office, Dr Naoko Yamamoto, Deputy Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), and Stewart Maginnis, Deputy Director General of Union Programs International for the Conservation of Nature. Jaggi Vasudev, who initiated the latest 'Save Soil' effort on March 21 in London, will travel by bike 30,000 kilometres via 26 nations in 100 days to reach Delhi.
