On March 31, all existing Covid limitations imposed by the Centre will be lifted. On Wednesday, March 23, the Ministry of Home Affairs said that the Disaster Management Act will no longer be used for Covid-safety measures. The Ministry of Home Affairs will not issue any new orders when the current order expires on March 31. However, instructions from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on COVID containment measures, including as the use of face masks and hand cleanliness, will continue to lead the broader national response to the pandemic. The states and union territories may continue to adhere to the Standard Operating Measures and advice published by the Ministry of Health from time to time.
