The Andhra Pradesh Assembly decisively resolved on Monday to form a House committee on the Pegasus controversy, after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's recent accusation that the former TDP administration acquired Pegasus spyware. TDP's acquisition of Pegasus software, according to Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath, is a heinous crime. In view of Mamata Banerjee's comments, YSRCP members urged that a House Committee be formed to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the subject. They thought there was a need to investigate how the TDP administration, led by Chandrababu Naidu, exploited it against its political opponents. Speaker Tammineni Seetharam made the announcement after the government agreed to the governing YSR Congress Party's proposal (YSRCP). He stated that the committee will be formed within two to three days.
