Visakhapatnam city has hosted the International Women's Day Award Ceremony. The event was hosted by Port Chairman Rammohan Rao at the Port Sagarmala Auditorium at Akkayyapalem. This year's Lata Mangeshkar National Award was given only to vocalist Shanmukha Priya by the organisers. Shanmukha Priya, a previous contestant of Indian Idol 12, sang various popular movie songs, which became a highlight of the event. In addition, 13 women from all walks of life were honoured by the principal guests. The cultural events of all forms planned for this special occasion were enjoyable.
