Pahalgam Attack: India Creating War Atmosphere, Alleges Pakistan PM
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has responded for the first time to the militant attack in Pahalgam, four days after the incident. Commenting on the matter at a graduation ceremony at the Pakistan Military Academy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shehbaz Sharif described the incident as tragic but claimed that India was placing blame on Pakistan.
He asserted that Pakistan is prepared to face any threat from India and criticized the Indian government’s actions. “Unilateral decisions are not acceptable,” Shehbaz Sharif said, adding that Pakistan also condemns terrorism and is willing to cooperate in a neutral investigation into the Pahalgam attack.
“We are once again being blamed for a tragic incident that occurred in Pahalgam. We are ready to participate in a neutral, transparent, and credible investigation into the matter. Our priority is peace,” said Shehbaz Sharif.
He also responded to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent statement that terrorists will not be spared and that terrorism will be eradicated completely. Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan will never compromise on its sovereignty and is ready to face any threat.
He further alleged that India is creating a war-like atmosphere by initiating steps such as suspending the Indus Waters Treaty. He emphasized that Pakistan seeks resolution through dialogue.
