Minister Narayana Confirms Invitation to YS Jagan for Amaravati Restart Event
Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development Ponguru Narayana announced that the Andhra Pradesh government will extend an invitation to former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for the upcoming official ceremony to mark the re-initiation of development works in Amaravati. He clarified that this is a government-organized event and, in accordance with protocol, all relevant leaders, including Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, will be formally invited.

Speaking to the media, Ponguru Narayana stated that the event marking the resumption of Amaravati development activities is being held by the government, and therefore, invitations will be issued to every significant leader. When asked whether the invitation to Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would be personal or official, he indicated that the invitation process would adhere to established protocol procedures.

Minister Ponguru Narayana recalled that Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who was then the Leader of the Opposition, had been invited to the foundation stone-laying ceremony of Amaravati in 2015, but he had not attended the event. He also referred to the differing stance adopted by the previous YSRCP government, led by Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, regarding Amaravati during its tenure.

Now, with a change in the state government and the current administration’s decision to develop Amaravati as the sole capital, the re-initiation of works in the capital region has gained renewed significance.
