Minister Vasamsetti Reveals Why Jagan Held a Grudge Against Raghurama Krishnaraju

Minister for Labour Vasamsetti Subhash stated that during his tenure as Chief Minister, YSRCP chief Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy not only targeted leaders from the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP), but also harassed members of his own party. He made these remarks on Sunday at a celebration event for Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu's birthday held in Gandigunta village, located in the Uyyuru mandal of Krishna district.

Vasamsetti Subhash revealed several personal experiences during his speech. He recalled being an active member of the YSRCP for ten years and stated that he was promised a position as a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC). Reflecting on the past, he remarked that had he accepted the offer, people would have pelted stones at him. After being offered the MLC post, he approached Dhanunjay Reddy, who allegedly instructed him to perform a full prostration before Jagan Mohan Reddy. Vasamsetti Subhash said he was shocked upon hearing this demand. He further recalled being surprised when he was told that Minister Venu, who belongs to the same district, behaved similarly.

Vasamsetti Subhash alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy bore a grudge against then-Member of Parliament Raghurama Krishnaraju simply because the latter did not address him as “sir” and sat casually with one leg over the other in his presence. According to Subhash, Jagan operated his government from a “dark room” without coming out in public and governed through a close-knit group.

He claimed that Jagan Mohan Reddy believed he would return as Chief Minister but was ultimately taught a lesson by his own party leaders, who were frustrated with his style of functioning and expressed their discontent through the ballot. Vasamsetti Subhash criticized Jagan for spreading false propaganda against alliance leaders following the adverse election results.

He also condemned the unfulfilled promise made during the floods in Budameru, where a ₹1 crore relief was announced but not delivered. Despite amassing wealth, Jagan lacked a spirit of service, Vasamsetti Subhash alleged.
