Big Relief for AP Women Employees: Maternity Leave Won’t Affect Probation

The coalition government in Andhra Pradesh has announced a favorable decision for newly appointed women employees, stating that availing maternity leave will not affect their probation period. The government has released a gazette notification to this effect, clarifying that maternity leave will now be counted as duty for probationary female employees.

Previously, the provision of maternity leave applied only to regular women employees. The new decision extends this benefit to probationary staff as well. This move has been met with appreciation from government-employed women, who have expressed happiness over the inclusive change introduced by the administration.
