Former Woman Cricketer Makes Key Comments on Rohit Sharma's Form
Former India women's cricket team captain Anjum Chopra has expressed concern over Mumbai Indians batter Rohit Sharma’s current form in the ongoing Indian Premier League season. She stated that Rohit Sharma has been struggling to provide the solid starts expected of him, which is impacting the overall performance of the Mumbai Indians team.
Speaking on his underwhelming performances so far, Anjum Chopra said, “It is natural for a player to be out of form. That is not a crime. However, in the current scenario, Rohit’s lack of form is preventing Mumbai Indians from getting the kind of start they need and expect.”
Mumbai Indians are currently placed seventh on the points table, with only two wins and four losses in six matches.
Analyzing further, Anjum Chopra commented that the repeated low scores from Rohit Sharma have become a cause for concern. She also proposed that the Mumbai Indians management has other options to address this issue. “They do have alternatives. If necessary, they can consider moving Rohit Sharma down the batting order. All such possibilities can be explored,” she stated.
Anjum Chopra also emphasized that losing form is a part of the game and that some players might need more time to regain rhythm after participating in major tournaments. “Players put a lot of energy into tournaments like the World Cup. Transitioning into another tournament immediately afterward may be easy for some, but for others, it might take a bit more time. Rohit hasn't had the kind of start he would have hoped for in this IPL. But we all know the caliber of player he is and the kind of match-winner he has been. I hope he returns to form soon,” she explained.
