Nara Lokesh Inaugurates New Ashok Leyland Bus Plant Near Vijayawada

Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Lokesh, on Wednesday inaugurated a state-of-the-art Ashok Leyland bus manufacturing plant near Mallavalli, close to Vijayawada. He announced the launch via Twitter.

Nara Lokesh highlighted that Andhra Pradesh is making significant strides in industrial development. He stated that this manufacturing facility, spread across 75 acres, marks a milestone in the state’s industrial sector. The plant will manufacture both diesel and electric buses, contributing to job creation and promoting skill development, Lokesh added.

He further mentioned that the acceptance of the Switch Electric double-decker bus for Andhra Pradesh promotes eco-friendly transportation and represents a substantial step toward sustainable mobility.

The event was attended by Ministers T.G. Bharat, Kollu Ravindra, MLA Yarlagadda Venkatarao, and officials from Ashok Leyland.
