My Husband is Kept in a Punishment Cell: Vallabhaneni Vamshi’s Wife Pankaja Sri

Vijayawada: Pankaja Sri, wife of remanded politician Vallabhaneni Vamshi, has expressed serious concerns about her husband's health condition in jail. Speaking to the media after meeting him, she alleged that he was being kept in solitary confinement, which could lead to depression.

Pankaja Sri stated that Vallabhaneni Vamshi suffers from health issues such as epilepsy and asthma. She, along with YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MLA Tatiparthi Chandrasekhar, visited Vamshi in jail. After the meeting, she accused the authorities of placing him in a punishment cell, where he is kept alone for 22 hours a day.

She further alleged that her husband was being held in Barrack 6/4 under harsh conditions. Pankaja Sri claimed that he was being subjected to both physical and mental distress. She appealed to the authorities to move him out of solitary confinement and allow him to stay with other inmates.

Additionally, she accused officials of implicating Vamshi in unrelated cases and pointed out that even basic facilities, such as a chair, were not provided to him in jail.
