Police Show Videos During Interrogation as Vallabhaneni Vamsi Evades Key Questions
YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Vallabhaneni Vamsi has stated that although Satyavardhan came to his house and stayed overnight, he was unaware of his identity at the time. On the first day of his police custody, Vamsi reportedly answered multiple questions with statements such as "I don’t know" or "I don’t remember." Officials interrogated him for nearly two and a half hours, asking 20 questions and presenting some video evidence during the questioning.
As part of a three-day custody period, police took Vamsi, along with Shivaramakrishna Prasad and Lakshmipathi, into their custody from the jail at 11:00 AM yesterday. After a medical examination, the interrogation began at the Krishnalanka police station at 12:45 PM. Reports suggest that Vamsi was evasive in his responses to police inquiries.
When questioned about why Satyavardhan was abducted, why he was taken to Vamsi’s house in Hyderabad by car, and why he was kept in hotels and apartments in Visakhapatnam, Vamsi reportedly denied any kidnapping. He claimed that Satyavardhan had come to their house in Rayadurgam on his own, stayed there for the night, and left the next day with their associates in a car. Vamsi further stated that he did not know at the time that the individual was Satyavardhan and that he was unaware of his whereabouts after leaving his house. He also asserted that he had no connection with him.
Regarding allegations that he pressured Satyavardhan to withdraw the case, Vamsi stated that he had no involvement in such matters and that Satyavardhan had voluntarily appeared in court and given his statement. When asked about his visit to Tadepalli on the 12th and whom he met there, Vamsi admitted to traveling there but claimed he did not meet anyone.
Vamsi also told the police that he could not recall where he had placed the three phones he regularly used. When asked about the 16 cases filed against him, he acknowledged being aware of them. He denied any involvement in the attack on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) office in Gannavaram. Additionally, Vamsi stated that he owns two cars, a Mercedes-Benz and an Audi Q7, both registered under the same number.
Following the interrogation, authorities conducted another medical examination at 3:25 PM before returning Vamsi to jail.
