Vallabhaneni Vamsi Was Unjustly Arrested on False Charges, Alleges YS Jagan
Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has alleged that the coalition government is taking vindictive action against YSRCP leader and former Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi. Jagan claimed that Vamsi was unfairly arrested based on false charges and expressed his strong discontent over the matter.

Speaking to the media after meeting Vallabhaneni Vamsi at Vijayawada Sub-Jail today, Jagan stated that the manner in which Vamsi was arrested reflects the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. He recalled that during an earlier attack on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) office in Gannavaram, a complaint was filed by Satyavardhan, who was working as a computer operator at the office. However, Jagan pointed out that the same Satyavardhan later testified before a judge, stating that Vamsi had no involvement in the incident. Despite this, the government allegedly filed false cases against Vamsi, Jagan claimed.

Jagan further alleged that former TDP spokesperson Kommareddy Pattabhiram had intentionally provoked and verbally abused Vallabhaneni Vamsi in a highly derogatory manner. According to Jagan, Pattabhiram used offensive language, incited tensions, and issued challenges after arriving in Gannavaram. This, he stated, led to clashes between TDP and YSRCP supporters, ultimately resulting in the attack on the TDP office. Jagan asserted that the primary reason behind the violence was Pattabhiram’s provocation. He added that the police had resorted to lathi charge to disperse the crowd and had registered cases against individuals from both parties without bias, even when the YSRCP was in power at the time.

Jagan emphasized that Vallabhaneni Vamsi’s name was not included in the original complaint, as he was not present at the location when the attack took place. However, Jagan alleged that after the coalition government assumed power, it deliberately targeted Vamsi by reopening the case related to the TDP office attack and listing him as the 71st accused.

According to Jagan, the government’s ultimate aim is to ensure that Vamsi does not get bail. He further accused the ruling administration of orchestrating a conspiracy by filing a case linking Vamsi to an attempt to set fire to the Gannavaram TDP office. Jagan strongly criticized the government for allegedly filing non-bailable charges against Vamsi with the intention of keeping him imprisoned.
