'Sankranthiki Vasthunam' Movie Faces PIL in Andhra Pradesh High Court
The Andhra Pradesh High Court has admitted a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) concerning the blockbuster film Sankranthiki Vasthunam, which was released during the Sankranti season and gained massive success. The petitioner alleged irregularities in the film's budget and earnings, claiming a possible "quid pro quo" in financial dealings. They requested the court to direct that the additional revenue generated from extra shows be deposited into the government treasury. Additionally, the petitioner urged the High Court to initiate investigations by the Income Tax Department, Enforcement Directorate, and GST authorities into the financial aspects of the movie.
