Nara Lokesh Responds for the First Time on Deputy CM Speculation
The demand to appoint Minister Nara Lokesh as Deputy Chief Minister has become a significant topic of discussion in Andhra Pradesh politics. Several leaders of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) have been voicing their support for Lokesh to assume the Deputy CM position, leading to ripples within political circles, including in the Jana Sena Party.
Amid growing debates, the TDP leadership has issued strict instructions to its cadre, advising them not to comment on the matter publicly. Similarly, the Jana Sena Party directed its members and supporters to refrain from discussing the topic in public or responding on social media platforms. Both parties have warned of disciplinary action against those who violate these directives or act beyond the party line.
Meanwhile, Nara Lokesh is currently occupied with his engagements at the World Economic Forum in Davos. During this time, a national media channel questioned him about the local media reports speculating on his appointment as Deputy CM and his political ambitions.
In response, Lokesh stated, “I am currently in a strong political position. The people have supported our coalition with a decisive majority in the elections, where 94% of our alliance candidates secured victory. At present, I am fully occupied with my responsibilities and focusing on the assignments entrusted to me.”
Lokesh further emphasized that his attention is on achieving the targets set by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. He pointed out the severe decline in the education system over the past five years and highlighted efforts to bring transformative changes to it. Lokesh also reiterated the vision of making Andhra Pradesh a trillion-dollar economy, affirming the collective efforts toward this ambitious goal.
