PV Sindhu Responds to Vinod Kambli’s Situation

Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli has been in the news recently due to health issues and financial struggles. A video of Kambli appearing frail during the  Achrekar memorial event, where he was accompanied by Sachin Tendulkar, went viral on social media. Another video showing him struggling to speak clearly further raised concerns about his condition.

This situation moved PV Sindhu, who emphasized the importance of financial management for athletes. "I felt deeply saddened after watching Vinod Kambli’s video. As athletes, we must use our earnings wisely. Investing in ways that secure our future is crucial. Reducing unnecessary expenses is equally important," she said.

Sindhu noted that financial challenges are not uncommon for athletes, but they must be tackled with awareness. "When you’re at the peak of your form, income flows steadily. However, negligence in financial planning can lead to difficulties later. Paying taxes and controlling expenses are essential aspects. My parents handle my finances, and I have not faced financial troubles so far. I’m extremely grateful for this," Sindhu explained.

Sindhu, who got married in December, is now preparing for the 2025 Indian Open, striving to deliver a strong performance.
