All set for nine-day 'Srivari Brahmotsavams' at Tirumala on Sept 27
Tiruapati: Tirumala is getting ready for Srivari Brahmotsavam. Due to the Covid, the rituals, which have been conducted in seclusion in the temple for two years, will be organised among the devotees this time.
During the month of March 2020, due to the massive increase in the spread of Coronavirus, Srivari darshans were completely cancelled from March 21 to June 7 of that year like never before in the history of TTD.
Thereafter, the annual 2020 Navratri Brahmotsavams from September 19 to 27 and from October 16 to 24 (on the occasion of the leap month) were conducted privately in the temple, although a limited number of devotees were allowed to visit.
After that, even in 2021, as the effect of Covid did not decrease, Brahmotsavams had to be conducted separately again from October 7 to 15. As a result, three consecutive Brahmotsavams were confined to the temple.
However, now that Covid has almost subsided, Lord Venkateshwara is finally getting ready to return to ride on various Vahanams in the streets. As part of this, Ankurarpanam will be performed on Monday. On Tuesday, the festivities begin in a grand style with the hoisting of the flag.
