Old-age pension will be hiked to Rs 2,750 from Jan next: CM Jagan

Kuppam, September 23: For the first time, Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy visited Kuppam after becoming CM on Friday and deposited Rs 4,949.44 crores into the bank accounts of 26.39 lakh women beneficiaries across the state for third consecutive year under the YSR Cheyutha, the scheme meant for providing livelihood to the poor women belonging to SC, ST, BC and Minorities.

Addressing a public meeting, Jagan Reddy came down heavily on TDP chief and Leader of the Opposition N. Chandrababu Naidu for not developing his own Kuppam constituency as expected despite winning as MLA consecutively for 33 years in his forty-year-long political career. “Chandrababu used Kuppam only to become legislator nothing else,” he slammed and termed him as non-local to Kuppam and local to Hyderabad.

The CM vowed to make MLC KRJ Bharat as minister and urged people to send him to Assembly from Kuppam in next elections. He also announced that old-age pension will be hiked from Rs 2,500 to Rs 2,750 from next January onwards.
