APSRTC will run 4,500 Dasara special buses with existing fares: MD

Amaravati, September 22: Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) decided to run 4,500 special buses for Dasara festival with existing fares from September 29 to October 7, said APSRTC Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao in a press meet here on Thursday.

The MD stated special buses will ply to Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru from various locations in Andhra Pradesh. “Every bus is fitted with GPS so that exact location can be tracked,” he mentioned and added that a control room is being set up which will run round-the-clock.

Rao revealed special buses are arranged for devotees visiting Kanaka Durga temple atop Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada for Dasara festival. “RTC is introducing 62 non-AC sleeper buses by name ‘Star Liner’ from Dasara. We will continue services further depending on the results,” he stated. To a question, the MD said that salaries to RTC employees will be paid as per latest PRC.
