Chandrababu reacts to rumours of TDP joining NDA
Amaravati, September 1: TDP chief and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu responded to rumours of TDP joining BJP-led NDA. “I will not react at this juncture,” he said and mentioned that those who are spreading rumours should give reply.
Republic TV, an English news channel, telecasted a news report stating that the BJP is planning to forge an alliance with the TDP in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He recalled that the TDP pulled out of NDA keeping state interests in mind.
In its news report, Republic TV explained that the TDP has strong vote bank in Telugu states and BJP is in favour of partnering with the TDP ahead of next elections. It further said Chandrababu demanded that the Modi government should grant Special Category Status (SCS) to Andhra Pradesh after TDP MLAs and MPs exerted pressure on him. As the Centre did not concede to Chandrababu’s demand, the TDP quit NDA, the report analysed.
