AP suffered because of bifurcation, financial aid from Centre is required: CJI Ramana

Vijayawada, August 20: Truncated state of Andhra Pradesh suffered losses in all aspects because of bifurcation, said Chief Justice of India (CJI) N.V. Ramana on Saturday after inaugurating city civil courts complex here. He said that responsibility lies on the Government of India to compensate for the loss.

The CJI appreciated Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for delivering his speech in Telugu. “When other speakers spoke in English. Me and the CM delivered our speeches in Telugu. It is a good indication,” he stated and mentioned that it is dangerous for democracy if common people lose faith on judiciary.

Ramana mentioned that construction of city civil courts complex was completed in Vijayawada with the support extended by the AP government. He requested the CM to complete pending court buildings in Visakhapatnam and other places in the state at the earliest. Apart from CM, judges of the High Court and members of bar association were present.
