UK PM contender Rishi Sunak's wife Akshata Murty under fire over fancy 'tea cups'

Hyderabad: It is known that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has resigned from his post. Meanwhile, the name of former Finance Minister Rishi Sunak is heard prominently in the race for the next Prime Minister of Britain. It was officially revealed on Friday that Rishi Sunak is also entering the race. With this, many MPs also declared their support for him.

Meanwhile, Rishi Sunak's wife Akshata Murthy, daughter of Infosys founder Narayana Murthy, is in the news. Meanwhile, Rishi Sunak was not seen by the media after announcing that he was in the Prime Ministerial race. Journalists are waiting for him at his residence. In the meantime, Sunak's wife Akshata Murthy served tea and snacks to the scribes. With this, she was in the news on social media.

While some praised the incident, others criticised it. Akshata Murthy, who is being a crorepati, served tea to journalists with simplicity. Also, it seems that the price of one cup in which she served tea is around Rs 3,600 (38 pounds). Opposition leaders are criticising this. She is accused of doing this to show her greatness. In response to this, a netizen commented that a family can live for two days with the cost of one cup.

On the other hand,  Sunak was flayed for Akshata Murthy's work. Akshata Murthy still has Indian citizenship. Meanwhile, non-domicile tax status is given to those who are domiciled in another country in Britain. Those who receive it do not have to pay tax in Britain on their income earned abroad.

The opposition leaders accused Akshata Murthy of avoiding paying taxes by blocking this. A few days ago Akshata Murthy's representative clarified that they are paying tax for the businesses they are doing in Britain as per the law.
