Amaravati, June 30: The Andhra Pradesh CID police arrested TDP social media activist Venkatesh at Dharanikota village of Amaravati mandal in Guntur district, in the early hours of Thursday for posting offensive videos on his YouTube channel against Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and the YSRCP government.

The CID sleuths took hard disk of Venkatesh’s computer along with them. Venkatesh’s parents and relatives confronted the CID police for barging into the house without serving a notice. The cops handed over notice to parents of Venkatesh and took him into custody. Later, he was taken to the CID office in Guntur.

Meanwhile, TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh condemned the arrest of Venkatesh. In series of tweets, he warned that the CID cops will pay heavy penalty once the TDP government comes to power. He alleged that the CID officials are arresting the TDP activists to impress the CM for plum posts and promotions.
